It seems to me that Marco needs to move on to new faces and new ideas. We are mired down in the anger and frustrations of the old guard trying to maintain their power and programs. Look at the tone of their postings and you will see that all they understand is hate and insults against anyone that disagrees with them. Sad for them and sad for Marco.

I think the biggest problem is that there isn't any basis for the STRP other than "We need the STRP to continue to grow" as stated by the pro STRP candidate endorsed by the Board of Realtors. The citizens don't want to grow. They certainly don't want to spend $100,000,000 for an STRP so the developers can profit. This whole project has been based on false claims. The tremendous abuse of our canals and citizens during the dewatering this past season demonstrated that the moving force is not to protect the environment.
As usual, follow the money. The STRP is based on greed.

patton1, Why is a bartender or a bankrupt appliance salesman qualified to run our city just because they have been here for 10 years?
Would any company hire a low level employee to run it just because the low level employee had worked there for years? No, they would go out and get the most qualified person they could find.
Hall and Neylon founded and ran major companies. If living here for years is a qualification for running a city, where is our new city manager going to come from? Does that mean that we have to hire someone local just because they have been here for 10 years too? I think not.
What have Waldack and Gibson ever done execpt go bankrupt, sell appliances, make drinks and play golf that would demonstrate they can run a business? Try and give a logical answer for a change.

The city tells us in one breath they are going to limit development and in the next breath they are going to sell development rights. We need people we can trust running this government.
