As usual, great words Terri but there are a few that will not let go of the past. They will do whatever they can to disrupt our city and harm our good citizens. For all of our benefit I post the following:

It is the act of forgiveness that opens up the only possible way to think creatively about the future at all.
-- Father Desmond Wilson

Today is full of endless possibilities and dreams. In many cases, we are limited only by our fear and lack of hope, in others and ourselves. Each new day we are given a clean page to live in our book of life.

What freedom we find when we choose to practice the art of forgiveness. Forgiving others and ourselves will allow us to step into this new day as free human beings. What can really hurt us in the present if we have the key to daily forgiveness? What could our friend, boss, or enemy possibly say that would be worth the emotional price of on-going resentment?

Freedom is a gift we give ourselves every time we choose not to react to a hurtful comment. Holding on to old resentments keeps our creative energy trapped and stifled. Our choices are these: new freedom or old resentment. We choose new freedom. It is the gift we give ourselves when we choose not to let the sun rise on yesterday's script.

Today let me forgive everyone and anything - past and present - that might distract me from my spiritual growth.

On Letter To The Editor: Never accept nastiness

Posted on October 7 at 1:58 p.m.

Kiester talks about possible Sunshine violations?? That's a topic he should be an expert on since the courts found him guilty of same. I watch Monday night at the fights (council meetings)on cable and can't believe that people are complaining about our city council being unprofessional. Every letter to the editor is written by the same handful of people complaining and name calling. Just about everyone that speaks at the podium is complaining and name calling. When council defends themselves all the naysayers claim they are mistreated. Oh my Lord!!!! If you can dish it out you better be able to take it; I think our council has had it with the double standard!

I thought Roger was going to stay out of politics after he lost (got slaughtered) in the last election.

It is out of just plain courtesy and respect for a dedicated Marco Police officer that the post should have been removed. Thank you Marco Eagle for doing the right thing.

I too requested that the MARCOEYE comment be removed. I am certain the comment has caused the family some unnecessary distress. How unprofessional and disrepectful of the Eagle to allow such a comment considering the circumstances! MARCOEYES's comment is not free speech; it is just plain bad taste and the Eagle should know the difference.

I am partially disabled and Kevin checks on me regularly, even when he is off duty. He is a great police officer and was treated unfairly in his recent bid for a promotion. He has remained loyal to his chief, the community and his fellow officers. He is a class act!!

To Kevin and his family, you have a lot of people praying for you. Get well soon.

With regard to the LCEC municipalization commiee one must question what is so bad about looking into ways to save the city money. Moreover, why do some individuals oppose this so much?

On Marco officials, past and present, respond to allegations of fraud

I keep wondering why Bill McMullan keeps putting himself out there. He said he had a medical emergency, I hope he is healthy but why does a man with such a questionable history keep putting his already feeble reputation in the public eye so much?

Bill McMullan continues to put himself in the public eye, he is shameless. Why embarrass himself and his family any further?

On Letter to the Editor: From roses to rabbits

It is disappointing that the Marco Eagle would print such a negative and nasty personal attack on one of our city councilors. When does the Eagle look at something so ugly and vile and decide not to print it? Ray Parets most recent attack should have been that time. Here is a guy who makes a sport out of bringing shame on our community and being disrespectful to all those he disagrees with. At some point, the Eagle should look at the chronic letter writers and complianers and question whether what they have to say is worth the ink!!
