ALEX ADEYANJU

Assistant multimedia sports editor

Sports visual journalist Alex Adeyanju is a recent graduate of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University — but don't make the mistake of thinking he's inexperienced. While in school, Alex spent all four years hard at work at the WOUB public television and radio station. He was a sports anchor and producer for "Newswatch," one of the few live nightly news programs on a public station in the United States. The show was nominated Collegiate Broadcasters, Inc., award in 2005. Additionally, Alex hosted "Gridiron Glory," an award-winning weekly live sports program devoted to covering high school football that has won several regional Emmys. He left Ohio for the balmy southern climate to escape the unforgiving Midwestern winters, and, as of yet, has no complaints. Although Alex spent his college years in Athens, Ohio, like much of the new-media team he can trace his past to Kansas. Alex spent his formative years in Lawrence, where he attended Free State High School. Alex hopes to bring the best and most complete sportscast to Naples and the surrounding area. For fun, Alex spends his time in front of the TV watching movies. His favorites are "Ocean's 11" and "Wedding Crashers." Of course, he also loves watching sports and playing Madden on the Xbox.
