"April Fools Day" - April 1, 2008 was not a joke for William Adamson, 12 years old, and his brother Weston, 8 years old, both from Rochester, Minnesota. William caught a 32 inch Snook and later a large Redfish. Weston caught a Redfish that he says is 1 1/2 inches longer than his brothers fish. This catch happened while they were with Captain Shaun Chute. They were using live pin fish in 18 inches of water. The boys and their father Mike Adamson are avid fishermen. The Snook and Redfish catch happened two days after a trip with his family and grandfather, Reynolds Fischbach, a resident of Marco Island, when they caught six large Red Grouper. The boys have been fishing the gulf and the backwater of Marco Island for years.

Great day of fishing with Capt. Thomas Klish off of Bonita Beach with Jerry Van Ess of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Paul Blindauer. The grouper were biting one right after another ... We lost more than we caught! The bite is on!

My name is Luke Schwerdtfeger, and I am visiting from Dayton Ohio, and saw your fishing section, so thought I would send in my picture. I landed the fish on Monday, March 24th. This was a 60 pound black drum, which I caught right off of Bonita Beach. I landed it after about 40 minutes of fighting.

This is a photo taken of a Sailfish that I caught on April 15th on a charter trip off Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Three friends and I from Bonita Bay were to fish for a full day but high winds kept us close to shore. The picture includes mate Jeremy on the boat “Fish Tales” with Captain Ron Allen out of Whale Harbor. The sailfish was about 7 feet long and fought for over 20 minutes before we were able to bring him in the boat. The fish made over half a dozen scorching runs. A quick picture was taken and the fish was released to fight another day. We boated another sailfish and lost one as well in only about three hours of fishing. A terrific fishing trip even though rough water limited us to just the morning.

Mike Polzin writes, "I took this picture of a fishing guide and two clients in front of Marco Towers on 4-13-2008. The pair caught a 33-inch snook. I was going to email the photo to one of the guys on the boat but the e-mail address that I wrote done appears to be wrong. If anyone can identify the Captain please have him contact me as I have other pictures of their outing. Send emails to mlpolzin at sbcglobal.net.
