Malenda Trick is featured artist in Artist Appreciation Series

Local art aficionados gathered at Marco Island’s Orion Bank on Wednesday night to mingle and be inspired by local talent Malenda Trick. Trick displayed many of her paintings, examples of her licensed products and even created an original painting during “An Evening with Malenda Trick,” which is part of the Artist Appreciation Series. Time for a change? Living here in southwest Florida we don’t get the chance to experience the change of seasons. We don’t really go from spring weather to the summer weather in the traditional ways. The Art League Marco Island’s Center for The Arts and the City of Marco Island Parks and Recreation Department have announced the return of Artists Visiting Kids! For Camielle Aylwin, a 15-year-old tenth grader at Lely High School, art was never something she considered seriously — not until a year ago when she fell in love with the idea of painting. I am writing this in the midst of all the challenges of putting together the new schedule of next season, the finishing touches on this summer season and thinking about my so-called vacation! While attending many of the arts events that take place on our island, I am excited about the people I get to see. This past week was a pretty busy week for us at the Center for the Arts (known to many as the Art League), but also at other locations as well.
