What is your favorite restaurant? Why?
I really like Bellini’s because I’m Italian, and I really care about the cuisine. I got to know the family who runs it. The mother goes back to Italy in the summer to get new recipes and she even recruits staff to come back with her and work seasonally.
What is your favorite dish there?
All the pastas are great, and their bread is to die for.
What other restaurants do you like?
After Bellini’s; Campiello and Pazzo!, in that order. Then, there’s the Terrace Steak House on Marco and Vergina’s. I don’t know why the one (Vergina’s) on Marco closed; it seemed busy.
What kind of food do you like?
Italian, mostly, but also a good steak or burger. I do a lot of grilling at home.
What qualities do you look for in a restaurant?
The taste and authenticity of the food, the ability to sit outside and fair pricing.
How about desserts?
I’m not big on them, but I love the ice cream you get in Italy. Here, there are some nice ice cream shops on Marco.
Are you a coffee lover?
I don’t go for the fancy stuff, but my wife likes Starbucks lattes. I think their coffee is too strong and overpriced. I just like to get my jolt in the morning and socialize.
