Fred and Darlene Turner have lived in Naples for years, and love to eat out.
---
Do you eat out a lot?
We eat out about five days a week while we’re on vacation. At home we eat out 2-3 times a week
What’s your favorite restaurant and what dish do you like most?
Pippin’s used to be our favorite, but it closed. Lunch at Perkins is good, but only at the east Perkins. We tried the one on the North Trail and it wasn’t as good. Seafood is our favorite cuisine especially grouper or salmon.
What’s new about eating out in Naples?
We lived here for six years before we moved to Tennessee. It’s amazing how everything’s changed. We’re very impressed with the Third Street and Fifth Avenue South revitalization, but the Waterside Shops look so generic. It used to be so beautiful, we’d send people there to see the waterfalls and things.
What other restaurants do you like?
I’d say our favorites are Carrabba’s, The Dock and Ruby Tuesday’s. We tried some of the high-end places, but we’re Northerners. We’re not into paying $55 for a hamburger.

Impressed with 3rd & 5th ave restaurants but what are their favorites?? I think they are right, no $55 dollar hamburgers for them.
