Meet Rosemary Mazzola, at the Meet the Artist reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 7 at Blue Mangrove Gallery, Marco Town Center Mall. Refreshments will be served, as well as delectable local Florida gourmet sauce samplings. This event is held in conjunction with the Community Concert series, held every Wednesday night at the Marco Town Center Mall. J. Temple Shalom will hold the Yom Hashoah Service at 4 p.m., Sunday at 4630 Pine Ridge Rd. The service is free and open to the public.
Lisl Bogart will recount her experiences before, during and after the Holocaust. There will also be candles lighted to commemorate the millions lost during the Holocaust. The Temple Choir will sing special music in memory of this tragic time.
Bogart was 13 when the Germans invaded her hometown of Prague. At school, she was spat upon, called a filthy Jew, and told never to return. Two years later, her family was crammed into a cattle car and taken to Terezin in Czechoslovakia. When she was 18 she contracted typhoid fever. As she was hovering between life and death, the camp was liberated. Lisl was the only survivor of 43 family members.

The Naples Museum of Art will host a free-admission Family Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 10. Special events relating to the current exhibition, “Pablo Picasso: Preoccupations and Passions” are planned. The exhibition closes on May 18.
Included will be interactive bilingual storytelling with Carrie Sue Ayvar, face painting and temporary tattoos with Cori Scheft, portrait sketches by artist Jason Weber, hands-on art activities, a fun-filled treasure hunt, juggling clowns and more.
