After suffering a setback the week before, Nacho Mamas’s stormed back to clip Cocomo’s Grill, 16-13, in the City Men’s Softball League.
Nacho Mama’s improved its season mark to 9-3, just two games behind in the win column from first-place Cocomo’s.
Zach Leutkemeyer and Greg Curry slammed out three hits and Steve Pahr, Vince and Santo Gentile, with a home run and Eric Phillips each had two hits to lead Nacho Mama’s.
Cocomo’s Scott Gibbs and Richie Busch knocked out three hits each and Neal Alberry, Kevin Hennings, Curt Witthoff and Dan Noyes had two hits each.
St. Mark’s solidified its third-place position by downing Capt. Brien’s 12-6. Mark Canaday, Patrick Baldwin, Kevin Kirby and Ernie Borden had two hits each for St. Mark’s, with Canaday blasting a home run.
Capt. Brien’s was led by Kyle Prevett, Joe Valencic and Tony Andrade with two hits each.
Sand Bar blasted Almost Famous Mel’s, 18-6. No further report on the game was available.
