Marco Island police officers have identified the person found dead in Factory Bay on Sunday.
Police found Terry Sue Metts, 53, in the bay. Police note that Metts’ next of kin has been notified. An investigation into the cause of death continues.
Authorities responded to a report of a body in the water near Angler’s Cove Condominiums just after 9 a.m. Sunday.
According to employees at the Angler’s Cove Tiki Bar and Cafe, the body was found by a boater who came into the Tiki Bar on Sunday morning to call 911.
No information has been released to indicate whether foul play was involved in the death.
Marco Island Fire Rescue and the Marco Island Police Department responded to the 911 call, which was made at 9:04 a.m. Sunday from the Tiki Bar at Angler’s Cove.
