What an exciting time at the Marco Island Family YMCA!
This week started off with the fourth round of the “Shark of the Park” competition. More than 50 participants skated for the top prize. The winner, for the third time in as many events, was Connor Bowden.
A big thank you to all who helped out at the event especially the Willmoth family, who served up some tasty treats; Weiner Dog Toys for their sponsorship contribution; Joe and Ginger Smith and their crew for the hours and work they put into this event to make it work; to the parents who take the time to be involved in their children’s social activities at the YMCA, and to photographer Madeleine Bolsen who took some fantastic photos at the event.
Sign up continues for Summer Camp at the Marco YMCA and Manatee sites. Make sure your child is registered.
The “Water Wise” water safety program for all third grade students continues at the Aquatics Center. Tommie Barfield students have been coming to the pool to learn water safety and Manatee Elementary School students will be here starting Monday.
By the way, the next Swim lessons with Miss Dottie is slated for May 5 to 15 at the Aquatics Center.
