The first Jazz & Blues on the Green will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at The Rookery at Marco in Fiddler’s Creek. The afternoon will feature the Rick Howard Jazz Quartet and the Moony Mann Band playing blues.
“I’d say you’re not gonna see a better jazz band in the area, as well as us, the chamber did a good job of tracking us down,” Tim “Moony” Mann, lead singer and guitarist for the Moony Mann band, said. “Rick Howard is all booked up, and we’re close to it.”
“They were awesome,” Vicki Williams, Marketing Director of the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce, said of the bands who played the chamber’s 30th anniversary celebration at the Marco Ocean Beach Resort.
The musicians will perform Sunday on the putting green at The Rookery, so bring your own blankets or lawn chairs.
“We were just out there this morning, and its beautiful,” Williams says of the venue. “It’ll be a nice Sunday afternoon in beautiful surroundings.
The Marriott Vacation Club will have hamburgers, hot-dogs, beverages, beer, wine and cocktails for sale.
“Our portion of the show will be traditional blues, we’ll play for about an hour and 45 minutes, and Rick Howard will play about two hours,” Mann said. “And we’re looking forward to it, should be a great event.”

“We’ve invited the legendary Steve “Tiny” Cahn, a 67-year-old jazz and blues drummer for the show,” Mann said.
Regular members of the Moony Mann Band include lead guitarist Billy “Sky” Bobinski and bass player Johnny O’connor.
For a preview of their Sunday performance at the first Jazz & Blues on the Green, the Moony Mann Band will also be playing from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the entrance to the Sugden Theatre in Naples.
