The Isles of Capri fire and rescue district is to receive a donated 25-foot Boston Whaler Challenger boat on Sunday.
Delivery is expected at 1 p.m. at the Isles of Capri Fire and Rescue District’s Station 90, at 175 Capri Blvd.
Following a demonstration, the boat will be on display during an open house from 1 to 5 p.m., Collier County officials said.
The Capri Fire And Marine Rescue Benefactors Inc., a nonprofit organization, donated the 1995 refurbished vessel and trailer to the district in November after paying for renovations.
“We are very thankful for the generous donation,” Isles of Capri Fire Chief Emilio Rodriguez said in a press release. “This vessel will be used to provide fire and rescue services to Keewaydin Island and the surrounding waterways in response to the approximately 100 marine and rescue calls we receive each year.”
