The parking lot of the Old Marco Pub and Restaurant was filled with suds on Sunday. The foam came from the Bikini Car and Bike Wash fundraiser for Hospice of Naples, Marco Island and Immokalee.
“We’re very excited to do a Bikini Car and Bike Wash on Marco,” said Tara Trevethan, the organizer of the car wash. “It’s something with a little bit of fun. We even have the boys wearing the bikini T-shirts.”
Trevethan, owner of Tara’s Steak and Lobster House, is one of the contestants in this year’s Dancing With the Starz event. She picked Hospice as her charity to raise money for.
Several of Trevethan’s friends and local business owners, including Sasha Popoff from Rick’s Island Salon, volunteered for the fundraiser.
“Both of us being in the business community and wanting to give back decided it would be a really good idea to raise money for Hospice,” Trevethan said.
Others helping out were Dana Schwam, Adrian Mirabilio, Sarah Logaglio, Tom Ackerson, Tara Trevethan, Tim Stinchcomb and Erin O’Brien.
Trevethan said her restaurant is sponsoring a wine tasting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., July 14. All of the proceeds from the event will also go to Hospice. Tickets are available at Tara Steak and Lobster House or Anchor Real Estate.
