Are you thinking about starting a small business or already own one? Would you like to maintain your sales and revenue or perhaps increase it?

If so, the Economic Development Council of Collier County will help show you how.

The EDC’s Financial Resources and Small Business and Entrepreneurial working groups have developed a new program for business owners and entrepreneurs.

The EDC Business Seminar and Expo will be held August 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. The theme of the seminar is Resources to Create, Maintain and Grow Your Business.

“The August 24 program is a must for entrepreneurial ventures or anyone who has ever thought about starting a small business in Southwest Florida,” Tammie Nemecek, president of the EDC said.

Items of interest that will be discussed include understanding and managing your business’ cash flow and how to set up the legal structure. Other items include funding source options and employee benefits.

Speakers at the seminar will include representatives from Larson, Allen CPA’s, Roetzel and Andress LPA, Gulfshore Insurance and Gulf Coast Venture Forum.

Many national, state and local agencies will participate in the expo. Agencies that have been invited to attend include the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Florida Women’s Business Center (FWBC), Southwest Florida Workforce Development (SFWDC), the Florida Department of Education, the Florida Department of Financial Services, FGCU’s Small Business Development Center, the EDC, the Collier County Government, the Gulf Coast Venture Forum, Naples Payroll , the Hispanic Council and several area financial institutions.

They will answer your questions and explain what their agency can do for you as a business owner.
