U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, R-Ft. Myers and Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp will be guest speakers at the Business Leadership and Sustainable Future breakfast forum next month. The event, coordinated by the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, will be July 16, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Norris Auditorium in Naples.
Mack and Kottkamp will join Conservancy President and CEO Andrew McElwaine to speak about economic growth and environmental protection.
“Southwest Florida business leaders have an important role to play in protecting our environment and influencing the decisions that will sustain our quality of life and economic vitality in the region,” said Barbara Wilson, director of marketing and communications for the Conservancy. “This breakfast forum concentrates on balancing economic growth and environmental protection — and the difference business leaders can make.”
The conservancy and the law firm Cohen & Grigsby are sponsoring the free event. Reservations must be made by July 9. Call (239) 403-4200.

Cohen & Grigsby? Those are the guys with the youtube video they played on CNN the other night about how to avoid hiring an American. Might've known they'd be buddies with politicians. Larry Lebowitz: And our goal is clearly NOT to find a qualified and interested U.S. worker. And, you know, that in a sense that sounds funny, ahh, but it's what we're trying to do here. We are complying with the law fully, ahh, but our objective is to get this person a green card, and to get through the labor certification process. So certainly we are not going to try to find a place [at which to advertise the job] where the applicants are going to be the most numerous. We're going to try to find a place where, again, we're complying with the law, and hoping, and likely, not to find qualified and interested worker applicants. So that's the process that we will go through with you from the beginning onward..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCbFEg...
