Commuters may have been singing hallelujah when they saw the intersection of Collier and Bald Eagle reopened. That is until they realized that the traffic light is still not operational.

Quality Enterprises still expects to be done with the project before Christmas, and over the next few days, commuters will notice a lot of changes.

• Budget? $9.9 million

• On budget? Better — the project is under budget.

• Completion date? The entire Collier Boulevard project is scheduled to be completed by December 15, 2007.

• On Schedule? Yes.

• What are they doing now? On Thursday morning, June 21 several changes that may impact driving routes will occur on North Collier Boulevard. The intersection of Bald Eagle Drive will be reopened. The northbound lanes of North Collier from Bald Eagle to north of Elkcam Circle will be closed. The intersection of North Elkcam Circle at the Chevron Station will also be closed. The reopening of the intersection of Bald Eagle will allow a four-way traffic pattern controlled by stop signs. All drivers should use the four-way stop procedures when approaching and leaving the intersection. At 8 p.m., June 21, a water line connection will require traffic to shift onto the right-of-way near the Smokehouse Bridge on North Collier. The work is scheduled to be completed by 7 a.m., June 22 There will be no lane closures for this work.

It has been a mess, it is a mess today and it will be a mess tomorrow as well. That is what's up with COllier Blvd. Brought to you by a City Council that by all appearances like messes.

Our city has Quality spread out too thin. This is a joke, everthing looks so unplanned and unorganized and one has to question if anyone really is in charge. This is what happens when you have inexperienced people running a city.
