Marco Island City Council Chairman Mike Minozzi, right, presented Frank Clark with the Employee of the Month award for June.
Two devoted employees of the city of Marco Island were honored Monday night during the City Council meeting.
Frank Clark, a collections and distribution lead technical supervisor for the Marco Island Utilities Department, was recognized as the Employee of the Month for June.
Clark, a three year employee, overseas a group of five utility technicians.
Public Work Director Rony Joel said Clark is "always going the extra mile to help a customer out" with a problem or explaining how to save water.
"Frank makes sure that when he leaves the customer, they are satisfied," Joel added.
Clark also makes sure that equipment is working properly, parts are stocked and work is completed safely.

Marco Island City Manager Bill Moss, right, and City Council Chairman Mike Minozzi, center, presented Steve Fickling with the Employee of the Month award for July.
Marco Island Fire-Rescue Department Driver Engineer/EMT Steve Fickling, a 23-year employee, volunteers as the liaison to the island’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Approximately 75 citizens volunteer on the team.
Fickling attends CERT meetings, provides new members with a six-week course and coordinate their training, according to Fire-Rescue Chief Mike Murphy.
"Recently, Steve participated in a countywide CERT training operation held at Lely High School," Murphy said. "His experience and expertise was highly praised by both the instructors and the participants."
Both employees will receive a paid day off and a reserved parking space at City Hall for a month.
Longevity awards and $2,000 bonuses were also given out to employees during the meeting. Recognized were Susan Patton, an administrative assistant with five years of service, and 15-year employees Jeff Potee, utility operations manager, and Pablo Uvalle, a utility system technician.

"Clark, a three year employee, overseas a group of five utility technicians." He does this across the seas? Sounds like a fun job.
