Phil kicks off Pops series
The Naples Philharmonic Orchestra will perform “Misbehavin’ Nightly” with Jeff Tyzik, conductor, and Byron Stripling, trumpet, at 8 p.m. today, at 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts, 5833 Pelican Bay Blvd. Tickets are $65. World War II aircraft display
Aircraft including the B-17 Flying Fortress and the B-25 Mitchell will be on display from 2:30-4:30 p.m. today, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday through Monday, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the Marco Island Executive Airport, 2005 Mainsail Drive, Naples. Naples Invitational Art Fest
A juried art show of 200 artists takes place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fleischmann Park, 1600 Fleischmann Blvd., Naples. Admission is a $3 donation that benefits Eden Florida, which helps children and adults with autism. Information: 437-5335
Swamp Buggy Weekend
Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28-29, Florida Sports Park, 8250 Collier Blvd., Naples. Time trials take place from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday ($6; free for children under 12); a dance with Brad Connor & Long Shot playing country music will be held from 8 p.m.-midnight Saturday ($5). A pre-race concert takes place at 11 a.m. Sunday. Races begin at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29. Sunday race tickets are $15.50 for adults in advance ($18 at the gate), $6 for children 6-12 in advance ($8 at the gate) and free for children under 6.
