My Angel's Attic: Your little angel will love this store

Posted August 1, 2008

This is Florida's first full service doll department store. It blew me away! I never knew there were so many things you could buy for a doll!! The store is loaded with every kind of clothing that we would find in a department store for us and then some.

Many of the doll outfits have matching outfits for your daughter up to size 12. There were uniforms for airline attendants, doctor's scrubs, nurses, brownie outfits, wedding gowns, graduation, and first communion to name just a few!

They feature the American Girl Doll and ALL the accessories. One doll was dressed in a terry robe, had a blue face mask on, hair in rollers and fuzzy slippers!

There was tons of furniture, an old-fashioned writing desk and chair, a beauty salon chair, pedicure salon, even a wheel chair, beds, chairs, beach chairs, sofas, you name it! I loved the claw foot tub of bubbles!

All kinds of accessories, including a horse to ride! Your imagination could run wild here.

The shoe department made me cry ... tiny little shoes and boots in all styles and colors! All with matching hand bags! Head bands, and tiaras, glasses and sun glasses. Imagine! They even had tiny umbrellas.

One whole wall of clothes in every style. Oh yes, it wrapped around the other side, so I guess there were two long walls of clothes. More than I have ever seen in any other store. There were custom-made clothes, tons of accessories, furnishings and publications. Most of the clothing has Velcro or snap closures so little hands can manage. The clothes are 15" to 18" and will fit build-a-bear, too.

The manager Michele Yoder said they have 60 vendors from all over the country that makes the clothes for American Girl and Biddy baby dolls. The American Girl doll comes with a book. American Girl is owned by Mattel. The historian dolls have stories to go with them. American Girl has an authorized publishing company, this store carries all their books, as well. This is America's No. 1 collectible doll. They feature a doll of the year, this year it is Mia.

Michele also has Kit Kittredge and her friend Ruthie as seen playing in the movie theater right now. She said the collector dolls that aren't made any more are worth about $400.

My Angel's Attic has been located in Mission Square in Naples since March 3, prior to that they were on Central Avenue for three years. You can find them at 1585 Pine Ridge Rd., Suite 4, Naples. Phone: 597-4437. Hours: Mon-Sat 10-5. Closed on Sunday.

They have movie night on Fridays with American Doll stories, pizza and popcorn for $10. They are also having a child's CPR class in September so call and register.

This is a fantastic store, I was amazed at what they carry and spent well over an hour in this great doll department store!
