Pumpkins can cause Homeowner Nightmare
Posted October 14, 2008
It’s October so that means many families will be carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns.
Don’t be tempted to throw scraps into the sink. Unlike most food, pumpkin does not break down. In fact, pumpkin pulp hardens and can cause drain blockage that will require the services of a plumber to unclog the drain or replace the disposer.
In case you are wondering, pumpkin is also bad for toilets so throw all your scraps and seeds into the trash or use them as an ingredient in one of your favorite pumpkin dishes.
